EBI was founded in Saronno in 1903 by Edoardo Butti who started his working life as a tinner.
The first great specialisation was production of boxes in tin plate for foodstuffs, especially for biscuit makers such as Doria, Colussi and naturally Lazzaroni.
Edoardo’s son, Bruno, took the first steps into the world of sheet metal processes, launching EBI into the sector of casting (deep drawing).
In the sixties Abramo Malnati, Bruno Butti’s son-in-law, led EBI to become a small industry. Already by then we counted among our clients companies like Piaggio, Candy Elettrodomestici and Ercole Marelli.

At the start of the sixties, the headquarters were moved from the old factory in the centre of Saronno to its current location which, after various extensions, now covers 15,000 m˛, of which 7000 m˛ are covered.
Today we can count on the best technology combined with our long experience and represent a benchmark in the sector of cold-casting of sheet metal, producing tens of millions of pieces every year.
